The whelps of the great Soot Basilisk species is incredibly aggressive with its the ability to slow down time at will, and takes advantage of this to wipe out entire cities for food. With a lifespan of a millennia, generations go by unaware that there are not multiple Soot Basilisks, as only one can be alive at any given time. At the end of their life cycle, the Soot Basilisk mates with the only living Pale Basilisk and each one lays its respective species eggs. Dying the moment the eggs are laid, the first born from the nest eats the remainder of the eggs. It is believed the soul waits nearby until the first egg hatches so it can take over the body to live again.
