Torridmanders can use their incredibly complicated eyes as shiftable lenses to not only adjust how far they can see, but also to convert into weapons by focusing the light from the immense heat generated inside their heads. Specialized rock-like skin is incredibly temperature resistant and has been seen swimming in magma. The infants are unable to use their eyes in a defensive way until adulthood, but the males are considerably smaller than their female counterparts.
