The Static Janpa uses its unique hairs to generate static electricity as it flies. The incredible efficiency of gathering the electricity gives it the appearance of lightning wings. The infants are less efficient at generating the electricity but learn to master how to control it in adulthood. Simply flying close to birds causes lightning arcs that allow it to feed.
