The Vohka grows crystalline seed structures around its eyes that resemble tears, earning it the nickname the Crying Cactus. The reflections in the crystals attract birds and other animals to eat its tears, which enlarge to become indigestible. Once the bowls are blocked and the creature dies, the seed uses the body as fertilizer to grow another.
