A vintage-style clawfoot bathtub is transformed into a surreal sculpture through the addition of hundreds of coiled and twisted forms that appear to be made of fabric or textile materials. The tub itself is cream-colored on top with a deep emerald green base, featuring classic brass plumbing fixtures. The coiled elements, in earth tones of brown, rust, and beige, completely engulf the exterior of the tub, creating an organic, almost tentacle-like texture that cascades down to form the tub's feet. These twisted forms give the ordinarily rigid bathtub a sense of movement and life, while also suggesting an ironic take on the concept of cleanliness, as the tub appears to be overwhelmed by these snake-like appendages. The piece is displayed in a stark white gallery space, creating a dramatic contrast with the sculptural elements.
